and mama came to spend the day…
Yesterday was absolutely perfect in my book. Mom came over yesterday morning to spend the day with me. We started our morning at the car shop—emissions were in order. Oncewe got that out of the way, we ventured to a yummy lunch at Panera before attacking Trader Joe’s and Kroger. It’s always more fun to grocery shop with Mama. With so many years of cooking behind her, she always has lots of practical and delicious ideas for me to incorporate into my monotonous weekday meals this semester.
Once our errands were complete, we ventured to the IM fields to take Trix for a walk on the trails. The weather was perfect and lots of people were out enjoying the sunshine. Back home, we decided it was time to get some baking done. When I say this is the best bread I have ever made, believe me. Don’t worry that she took one loaf, I kept one and my loaf is 2/3 gone.

I omitted the raisins and added white chocolate chips to mine. This bread is so moist but still light and the crumbly topping adds the sweetest crunch.
We finished our day with some Butternut Squash Ravioli (a la Trader Joe) and a walk around the block.
