2010 marked a huge milestone in the marriage of my grandparents and on Christmas Eve they celebrated their 50th anniversary. They married quite young as little Gloria was only 16 when Larry used to ride his bicycle 7 miles and across the river to see her.  We threw them a surprise party the day after Christmas and despite snowy conditions and below freezing temperatures, over 50 family and...

On December 17th, big brother graduated from the University of Georgia. Now of course, he’s off celebrating in Vail and ringing in the new year at a Widespread concert. Not a bad way to end 2010.

On August 17th, my parents celebrated their 25th anniversary. Funny thing is, Mom barely looks a day over 32 and Dad is celebrating another milestone this year, too! (I’ll get to that one tomorrow!) Love my parents so much and am so inspired by their dedication to each other and their family.

2010 has been a big year for my family and myself and so I present a series of posts devoted to milestones, adventure and family. Enjoy! While I should be scrutinizing my paper for AP style errors and the like, I am currently perusing cooking blogs and my favorite recipe databases for dishes and desserts I want to bake when I get home to a fully stocked kitchen this week.  And motivating myself to brave this undecemberingly cold weather with a special breakfast incentive tomorrow. I can’t decide, though: Panera bagel +...

As I sit here a little overwhelmed and a bit uninspired, I’m reminded of a sweet promise that remains everyday (and seems especially relevant during finals).  “for the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands and your joy will be complete.” -Deuteronomy 16:15

How fun! asecretgeek: I am obsessed with these headphones by artist Traci Medeiros-Bagan. My ears get really cold during the winter, and I’m always looking for cute earmuffs, but with warm ears comes the price of not being able to listen to my iPod when walking the 20 minute walk in 30 degree weather to class. This…
